Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Der Ausgangspunkt dieser Arbeit war die Feststellung, dass ein entsprechend ausgestaltetes Management-Anreizsystem ein wesentlicher Bestandteil wertorientierter Unternehmensführung ist. Dabei ergab sich insbesondere die Frage, wie die BMG eines solchen Systems ausgestaltet sein muss, um die Manager zu veranlassen, i.S.d. Eigentümer zu handeln. Für die Beurteilung der Managementleistung wurden im Rahmen der Untersuchungen ausschließlich die fundamentalen Daten des Rechnungswesens betrachtet. Dabei musste insbesondere geklärt werden, ob als Ausgangsbasis für eine anreizkompatible BMG eher periodisierte Gewinn- oder zahlungsorientierte Cash Flow-Größen zur Anwendung kommen sollten. Im ersten Kapitel der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde zunächst die Problemstellung erläutert sowie die weitere Vorgehensweise dargelegt. Der zweite Abschnitt bildete die Grundlage der eigentlichen Untersuchung. Hier wurde zu Beginn der Unternehmenswert bzw. der Shareholder Value als relevante Zielgröße für das Management begründet. Danach erfolgte die Vorstellung einiger theoretischer Modelle, insbesondere der Principal-Agent-Theorie. Denn diese begründen zum einen die Notwendigkeit von monetären Anreizsystemen und zum anderen geben sie die Rahmenbedingungen für die Ausgestaltung und Implementierung vor. Daraus konnten anschließend die Funktionen und Ziele einer Variabilisierung der Vergütung abgeleitet werden. Als Ergebnis dieser grundlegenden Betrachtungen wurden dann die Anforderungen und Gestaltungsmerkmale abgeleitet, die an Management-Anreizsysteme gestellt werden. An diesen orientierte sich die Entwicklung einer problemadäquaten BMG in den nachfolgenden Untersuchungen. Das dritte Kapitel umfasste den Hauptteil der Arbeit. Hier erfolgte zunächst einführend die Darstellung der Ermittlung und des Informationsgehaltes von Gewinn- und Cash Flow-Größen. Daran anschließend wurden in Abschnitt 3.3 anhand von einzelnen Kritikpunkten an „traditionellen" Performa
