About the Book

Since she was a little girl living on a farm in Missouri, CarolLee Miles had a dream of cruising the world's oceans on big ships. She kept her dream alive while raising a family and finally got her first travel job at the age of 43, escorting travelers on the trips of their lives around the world. With persistence, humility and an unstoppable joy for life she turned her dream into a successful career as a sought-after professional Cruise Host and Guest Speaker. Miles gives us a dynamic book packed full of detailed how-to information, personal stories and plenty of humor to help get you on track with your own travel career goals. Outlining the process of escorting travelers through their cruise vacations, the reader is taken into the exciting and behind-the-scenes world of cruising. She shows us that anything worth doing takes hard work, a good attitude, and a healthy dose of courage; and if you are persistent in visualizing your goals, anyone can embrace fear and replace it with love and success. Whether you are a traveler looking for insight into cruising careers, you're looking for inspiration during a career transition, a travel professional wanting to explore ideas to improve client relationships, or you just find yourself at the crossroads of life, CarolLee Miles's wit and wisdom can help you face change and achieve new levels of abundance and career satisfaction in your life. This book belongs in the hands of anyone searching for new horizons.
About the Author: CarolLee Miles is a woman who lives to travel -- and travels to live. Her motto is: Dream it! Speak it! Write it! Live it! And that's what she's done with her second creative endeavor, "Getting Paid to Cruise: Secrets of a Professional Cruise Host." Hired by Ports of Call Travel Club in Denver, CO in 1986, her childhood dreams of traveling the world were fulfilled. By 1990 she had stepped foot on all 7 continents and developed an insatiable appetite for cruising and helping others at home and abroad. Cruising is where her heart remains. In 1993, Miles became a certified Tour Director/Cruise Host through the International Tour Management Institute in San Francisco, CA. In 1999, she became Executive Producer of a CD entitled "Peace" and received recognition for her peace work from Columbia College, Columbia, MO where she attended and her alma mater, the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO. Her self-titled 'Ambassador of Peace' work has provided CDs to orphanages around the world as well as to persons working to end human suffering. Miles currently offers professional Cruise Host training on a number of voyages and combines all aspects of her career in public speaking engagements. Her motto flows throughout her journeys, combined with her own interpretation of L-U-C-K (Love Until Creation Knocks). By becoming an author and sharing her knowledge, CarolLee Miles is living her dreams. She lives in the Denver, CO area and can be reached at www.CarolLeeMiles.com or www.GettingPaidToCruise.com.
