Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Pädagogische Soziologie, Note: 3, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Schule stellt für Schülerinnen und Schüler1 eine wichtige Sozialinstanz dar, die sie verantwortungsbewusst auf die berufliche Zukunft vorbereiten soll. Zu deren wesentlichen Merkmalen gehören gegenwärtig Teamfähigkeit, ein sicherer Umgang mit neuen Medien sowie die Fähigkeit zum selbständigen Arbeiten. Es handelt sich hierbei um Kernkompetenzen, die in der Schule jedoch bisher nur in geringem Umfang vermittelt werden können, da sich der Unterricht häufig auf den reinen Wissenserwerb beschränkt, der zudem regelmäßig in Form eines "Frontalunterrichts" abgehalten wird, mit der Folge, dass sich nur ein Teil der Sch. an Unterrichtsgesprächen beteiligt, während ein anderer Teil sich zurückzieht, sich benachteiligt fühlt und sich vom Meinungsaustausch und von der Klasse isoliert (Bornschein / Kliebisch 2001, III). Diese Problematik wird auch durch den Einsatz von Gruppenarbeit kaum verringert, da sich hier regelmäßig beobachten lässt, dass in den Gruppen die leistungsstärkeren Sch. die Arbeit erledigen, die eigentlich von der gesamten Gruppe geleistet werden sollte. Gruppenarbeit allein lässt sich daher noch nicht als eine Form sozialen Lernens auffassen, in der die Mitglieder einer heterogenen Lerngruppe eine soziale Beziehung gestalten, gemeinsame Ziele verfolgen und das Ergebnis des einen vom Handeln des anderen abhängt und mitbestimmt wird. Um dies zu erreichen, ist es vielmehr notwendig, eine Lernumgebung zu schaffen, die auf Kooperation und sozialer Interdependenz basiert und damit wesentlich zum Lernerfolg beitragen kann (Green / Green 2005, 32).
