Jahrhunderts sich weltweit ausbreitet und den Gedanken des 'Allgemeinen Priestertums' und der Einheit des Leibes Christi auf ihre Fahnen geschrieben hat." Es ist eine unerklärliche, gar paradoxe Tatsache, dass die wissenschaftlich theologische Forschung in ihren Untersuchungen zur Historischen Theologie und Konfessionskunde bislang einen Mann fast vollkommen unberücksichtigt gelassen hat, der allerdings als eine Art Gründerfigur einer Sondergemeinschaft des Christentums fungiert: den Engländer John Nelson Darby und seine "Brüderbewegung", - obgleich der Einfluss, den Darby bis heute in der Theologie ausübt, bezeichnend ist. Mit Hilfe der hier vorliegenden Diplomarbeit: "'Geschlossenen Brüdergemeinden'. Geschichte - Lehre und Verfassung - Ökumene. Am Beispiel der Liturgie in der Kasseler Gemeinschaft", möchte ich mich intensiver mit dem religiösen Glaubenskonstrukt der "Geschlossenen Brüder" auseinandersetzen und dieses differenzierter betrachten. In einem ersten Zugang wird sich der genannten Thematik im Rahmen einer Problemdarstellung sowie kritischen Hinterfragungen angenähert. Weiter wird das Selbstverständnis der "Christlichen Versammlung" erörtert. Bei der Darstellung des Legitimationsverständnisses geht es primär darum, wie die Gemeinden sich aus ihrem je eigenen Verstehen heraus begreifen und sich in der Literatur präsentieren. Über einen prägnanten Auszug der "Brüdergeschichte" wird sich einzelnen Lehren und Reglementierungen zugewendet. Eine kritische Auswertung der zuvor gewonnen Erkenntnisse schließt diesen Teil ab. Anschließend wird der Versuch unternommen, die Ergebnis
