Este es un libro cercano al ensayo dónde se habla principalmente sobre lo que conlleva la inclusión del dato en las organizaciones. Se compone de 8 capítulos que exploran la importancia que tienen los datos en nuestras vidas y, por ende, en la geografía, ya que ésta se basa en la información geográfica como el elemento esencial de análisis y gestión territorial. Tal es su importancia que podemos hablar de la industria del GEODATO a comienzos del siglo XXI, que, siguiendo el símil económico, está comenzando a configurar los espacios donde se almacenan dichos datos, las fábricas de datos, y en los que se transforman mediante la gestión de los mismos. Los datos espaciales tienen un valor económico indiscutible, aunque muchas veces intangible, que se obtienen utilizando los Sistemas de Información Geográfica para su gestión. Por último, los datos espaciales ofrecen elementos destacados a través de buenas prácticas, así como toda una serie de ejemplos prácticos. sobre las grandes cuestiones que la geografía digital y los datos espaciales nos plantean en este siglo XXI. La serie "Geografía en red: de la reflexión a la acción" se configura como un conjunto organizado de reflexiones conectadas y acciones compartidas: la tecnología es la herramienta principal de la geografía en red (Libro I), que consume materia prima en forma de datos (Libro II) y produce marketing como forma de comunicación (Libro III).
