Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Führung und Personal - Generation Y, Generation Z, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Wer alt wird muss flexibel sein" (www.sueddeutsche.de). Diese zentrale Botschaft verkündete die Bundesregierung auf dem ersten Berliner Demografiegipfel der Herausforderung des demografischen Wandels im Oktober 2012. Konkret ging es um die sinkende Bevölkerungsanzahl in Deutschland bei gleichzeitiger Alterung. Außerdem wurden die daraus resultierenden Konsequenzen für die Gesellschaft und im Speziellen für den Arbeitsmarkt und die Belegschaftsstrukturen deutscher Unternehmen behandelt. Die Entwicklung des Erwerbspersonenpotenzials, d. h. der Menschen im erwerbsfähigen Alter von 20 bis 65 Jahren, wird laut der mittleren Bevölkerungsvorausberechnung des statistischen Bundesamtes rückläufig sein. Bis 2060 werden 27% der Bevölkerung weniger als heute zu den Menschen im erwerbsfähigen Alter gezählt falls der Saldo der Zu- und Fortzüge jährlich etwa 200.000 Personen betragen wird. Hinzu kommt eine Erhöhung des Altenanteils (50- bis unter 65-jährige) der Bevölkerung im erwerbsfähigen Alter, welcher innerhalb der nächsten fünf Jahrzehnte von aktuell rund 30% auf 37% ansteigen wird (Statistisches Bundesamt 2009: 17 ff.). Die derzeit sehr jugendzentrierte Personalpolitik von Unternehmen wird aufgrund der oben beschriebenen Entwicklungen verändert werden müssen. Der bevorstehende Nachwuchs- und Fachkräftemangel und die Reduktion der Vorruhestandsmöglichkeiten der wachsenden Beschäftigungsgruppe "50plus" führen dazu, dass deutsche Unternehmen ihre Innovationskraft und Produktionszuwächse zukünftig mit einer deutlich älteren Belegschaft generieren müssen (Morschhäuser 2006: 12-13). Der Bedarf an Arbeitskräften wird in Zukunft nicht mehr nur durch ausschließlich junge Menschen zu decken sein, was eine höhere Erwerbsbeteiligung Älterer notwendig macht.
