Le cronache qui raccontate sono la narrazione degli avvenimenti convulsi e incontrollati che caratterizzarono la prima ondata dell'epidemia di SARS-CoV2 nei territori lombardi della Brianza, Lodi Cremona e Bergamo e Valli Brescia e Garda e Iseo. Le caratteristiche di quell'ondata furono le stesse di una maxi emergenza del territorio come se si fosse abbattuto un terribile cataclisma.La narrazione di questi avvenimenti vuole mettere l'accento sulla pericolosa minaccia della malattia sul grave disordine generato nella popolazione mettendo in ginocchio il sistema sanitario già peraltro sovraccarico per l'attività ordinaria e di emergenza. Lo scompiglio generato dal virus ebbe come effetto diretto quello di denudare tutte le ipocrisie del mondo ma anche di riportare alla luce tanta solidarietà, fratellanza e calore umano. Come un novello vaso di Pandora permise di mettere in evidenza gli errori del mondo dando agli uomini l'opportunità di correggerli.Nell'esposizione di queste cronache ripeteremo di frequente con cadenza quasi ossessiva il concetto di genere umano come causa dei suoi stessi mali. Queste cronache ci permetteranno per la prima volta in tempi moderni di sottolineare quanto sia strategica per il bene di un paese l'organizzazione sanitaria. E così in questa cronaca degli avvenimenti che tutti noi abbiamo vissuto si alterneranno il Virus Covid detto il Generale, il suo attendente, ma astante innocente, Pangolino che vestirà i panni di ambasciatore della grande madre terra e di tutti suoi micro e macro ecosistemi ed il narratore che dalla sua trincea d'ospedale combatte e narra gli avvenimenti di questa pandemia. La metafora portante di tutto il racconto è la similitudine esistente tra la Strategia Militare in battaglia e la Strategia di Cura in quanto entrambe mettono in campo processi cognitivi logici e tecnologia abbinata alla valutazione delle forze in campo. Ma mentre la Guerra porta sempre distruzione anche quando parte da giusti principi mentre la Medicina difende la Salute ed ha come obiettivo primario la cura ed il rispetto della dignità dell'uomo. Veri protagonisti del romanzo sono tutti le infermiere e le dottoresse gli infermieri i medici ed il personale tutto che dentro e fuori dagli ospedali si è prodigato a salvare tanta gente anche mettendo a rischio la propria salute e quella dei propri cari. E molti molti di loro non sono più qui con noi a raccontarlo.
