Erziehung, Note: 1,0, Universität Bielefeld, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Unter dem Thema "Gender Mainstreaming im Kindergarten - eine kritische Analyse", wird im Folgenden Gender Mainstreaming als administrative Strategie kritisch beleuchtet. Insbesondere wird die Frage nach Möglichkeiten und Grenzen in der Umsetzung von Gender Mainstreaming im Kindergarten und in Kindertagesstätten diskutiert. Gender Mainstreaming als politisches Instrument zur Gleichstellung der Geschlechter kann als Ergebnis der politischen und theoretischen Auseinandersetzung um das Geschlechterverhältnis gesehen werden. Mit dem Konzept des Gender Mainstreaming wurde die Frauenförderung zu einer umfassenden Geschlechterpolitik transformiert. Politisches Handeln und Konzepte auf allen Ebenen sollen unter dem Aspekt Gleichstellung analysiert und gegebenenfalls revidiert werden. Eine Veränderung des Geschlechterverhältnisses soll über den Umbau institutioneller Strukturen erfolgen. Ziel ist es für beide Geschlechter gleiche Chancen und bessere Lebensbedingungen zu schaffen (vgl. Cordes 2004, S. 717). Derzeit wird Gender Mainstreaming vorwiegend in Unternehmen und Organisationen umgesetzt. Die Implementierung von Gender Mainstreaming in sozialen Institutionen, insbesondere im Kindergarten oder in Kindertagesstätten steht noch am Anfang. Die Geschlechterstrukturen in der Institution des Kindergartens und der Kindertagestätten zu untersuchen, erscheint aber aus Folgenden Gründen von besonderer Bedeutung. Zum einen erlernen Jungen und Mädchen im frühen Kindesalter sich in dem in westlichen Kulturen vorherrschenden System der Zweigeschlechtlichkeit zu Recht zu finden: Da Kinder bereits im Kindergartenalter erlernen, sich in dem Erwachsenendiskurs und in den Strukturen des Geschlechterverhältnisses zu verorten, tragen sie als jüngste Mitglieder im Generationenverhältnis über das Verinnerlichen von Diskursen z
