Und was passiert, wenn sich jemand ausgerechnet in eine solche Mumie verliebt? Auch der Markt für Schönheitsoperationen boomt. Hier tummeln sich Scharlatane mit falschen Versprechungen. Doch das erkennen die gutgläubigen Opfer erst, wenn etwas schiefgelaufen ist. Wen trifft die Schuld? Den Chirurgen, der seine Grenzen nicht kennt, oder den Patienten, der nimmersatt nach Vollkommenheit strebt? Seit jeher existieren Liebesbeziehungen zwischen Schülerinnen und ihren Lehrern. Besonders im Sportunterricht kommt es bisweilen zu "Handgreiflichkeiten". Hier endet das Ganze tödlich. Auf der Anklagebank des Lebens sitzen Protagonist und Antagonist einander gegenüber. Im Spiel zwischen Liebenden scheint alles erlaubt. Das Maß des Genusses errechnet sich aus dem Abstand zwischen Entbehrung und der Befriedigung, getragen vom Nervenkitzel, wenn es um das eigene Leben geht. Was könnte wohl tödlicher sein als handgefertigte Pralinen, die man gemeinsam verzehrt? Zu allen Zeiten haben sich Menschen vom schönen Schein verführen lassen. Ein Schöpfer von Reliquien will den Olymp der Unsterblichkeit erklimmen. Mit schlimmen Folgen. Der Tod gehört zum Leben wie die Nacht zum Tage. Sein Erscheinungsbild als Mord ist ebenso vielfältig, wie es die Motive sind. Doch erst gilt es, den Mörder überhaupt dingfest zu machen. Wenn sich die Crème der Halb- und Unterwelt zu ihrem ersten kriminellen Symposion versammelt, wird, wie könnte es auch anders sein, gefeiert und gemordet. Natürlich alles im exklusiven Ambiente.

Lehrtatigkeit am Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main. Wenn man einmal Lehrer war, dann kann man es mit der Literatur einfach nicht lassen. Und da man nicht mehr Rechtschreibung, Grammatik und Interpretation mit den Schulern uben muss, so verlegt man sich auf die Dinge, die am meisten Spass machen, namlich das Geschichtenerzahlen. Zumal wenn man eine gewisse Zeit seines Lebens in Afrika verbracht hat, dann hat man so viel gesehen und erlebt, dass die Fantasie noch lange Purzelbaume schlagt. Ausserdem ist das Palavern, also das lange Erzahlen, dort Teil der Lebenskultur. Wenn man sich nicht die Zeit nimmt, ein wenig zu plaudern, dann kommt man nicht weit, weil jeder einen fur langweilig und unhoflich halt."
