Oberhausen 2011, S. 11) Theoretische Überlegungen und deren Relevanz für eine pädagogische Praxis in und außerhalb von schulischen Kontexten an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kunst und Pädagogik begleiten mich nun schon von Beginn des Studiums an. Der Laie macht sich gemeinhin wenig Gedanken darüber, ob und wenn ja, was Kunst und Pädagogik gemeinsam haben und worin sie sich unterscheiden. In Zeiten, in denen Bildung an ihrer ökonomischen Verwertbarkeit gemessen wird, hat es die Kunst und somit auch die Kunstpädagogik als scheinbare Nebensächlichkeit im Kanon der Schulfächer schwer, sich in den Curricula der Bundesländer zu halten. Ich möchte einige Fragen an den Beginn dieser Arbeit stellen, um dann in mehreren Schritte den Versuch zu unternehmen, diese systematisch zu klären. (...) Die Relevanz des Gegenstandes steht (also) außer Frage: Bildung betrifft jeden! Nicht nur diejenigen, die sich für ein Studium eines Lehramtes oder einer anderen pädagogischen Fachrichtung entscheiden, müssen sich mit Fragen der Bildung auseinandersetzen. Jeder, der studiert, bildet sich. Es ist Aufgabe und Pflicht jedes Studierenden, in Bildungsprozesse einzutreten. Darüber hinaus müssen wir als zukünftige Lehrerinnen und Lehrer nicht nur in der Lage sein, Bildungsprozesse bei den uns anvertrauten Schülerinnen und Schülern anzustoßen, sondern auch selbst fortwährend in Auseinandersetzung mit sich ständig und immer schneller ändernden Rahmenbedingungen treten.
