Ibifubara "Daniel" George Ekine was born the oldest of four in Lagos, Nigeria. So, he buried himself in his studies, escaped to Malaysia to study engineering on a government grant and, eventually, ended up in Westerly, R.I., where he waits for asylum, arguing that a return to Nigeria would result in imprisonment or death. About the Author: Daniel Ekine grew up in Africa as the first child of four raised by a single mother. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in Malaysia before moving to the United States. Inspired by growing up as a different child, he is devoted to the ideal of all children growing up in a loving world and that one atom of love is more powerful than one million atoms of hate. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
