David received this revelation thousands of years ago, well before Paul wrote the letter to the church in Ephesus, that God knows the number of our days, before we have even drawn a single breath, He has our days numbered, He knows the sum of them. Our days are not just numbered, they are precious to Him, because they are the totality of our mortal existence, but they are the beginning of our eternity. He wants to set us up for a win. In fact, He has! - the choice is ours to take it or not.
When we live continually measuring ourselves against each other, we will find cause to dismiss our value and worth and ultimately our success. We will turn to the negative way of thinking that says we have failed or that we are a failure. You are NOT your paycheque, you are NOT your address or your postcode. You are NOT your job title or job description, you are NOT your list of achievements. YOU ARE NOT THE SUM TOTAL OF YOUR FAILURES! If you are on God's team, if you have surrendered your life's Lordship over to Jesus Christ, you are destined for success. You are His son.
