About the Book

Peter Dawes travels to Bodie to find out from Thaddeus Cooper why he thinks he's in danger. With a stopover in Virginia City, Dawes continues on the Bodie stage arriving at the Mining District at twilight. Finding out that Cooper was shot dead shocks Dawes and he puts his investigative knowledge to work to try to find the killer.Cooper's mine is shut because of a labor dispute that may have been caused by the Irishman from Virginia City, Sean O'Hare.Another death that prompts the circuit judge from Bridgeport to hold a second inquest results in a surprise for the superintendent of the Hart and Freeman Number One mine.Dawes continues to ask questions in pursuit of the answer to: "Who killed Thaddeus Cooper."Dawes' long time associate Maudie Simpson researches information for Dawes that leads to startling information about the mines and Thaddeus Cooper. With more twists than a mental pretzel Dawes finally concludes his investigation.
About the Author: Mr. Mueller lives and writes in Sacramento. His wife, Jerrilee, retired from teaching elementary students. As a freelancer he's written over a hundred articles and stories in national magazines. He's worked at various companies writing user manuals, operator guides and reports. According to him being a one-man publishing business requires more work than the initial writing. Having had experience with other publishers where structure didn't come out exactly as written, the ins and outs of independent publishing are much less onerous to him and they avoid the irritating and time-consuming faux pas at the other end of the line. As you can see his fiction is wide ranging, another benefit of indie publishing. A traditional publisher would want a pigeonhole and production, neither of which is appealing to him. If you read any of his books, either feel free to email him or write a review on Amazon. And if you want to find out what's coming next visit his website: http: //www.williambmueller.com.
