Zunächst wird auf die Partizipation im Wandel eingegangen. Hierbei geht es darum, die Organisationsmitglieder von den Veränderungsvorhaben zu überzeugen. Dies gelingt am besten, wenn die Mitarbeiter motiviert sind und sich am Wandel beteiligen. Hierzu werden geeignete Wandlungsstrategien benötigt, durch die motivationale Effekte erzeugt bzw. erhalten werden können. Bei der Planung von Veränderungen spielt der erforderliche Partizipationsgrad eine entscheidende Rolle und gilt als strategischer Faktor bei der Planung von Veränderungen. Der Handlungsspielraum, den das einzelne Organisationsmitglied bei seiner Tätigkeit hat, ist Ausgangspunkt der meisten Überlegungen zur Erhöhung der Arbeitszufriedenheit. Zur Bewertung der Motivation wird das "Job Characteristics Model" von Hackman und Oldham zu Grunde gelegt. Entscheidend ist in diesem Modell, dass die Wahrnehmung des Individuums bezogen auf seinen Handlungsspielraum für die Arbeitszufriedenheit ausschlaggebend ist. Im darauf folgenden Teil wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie sich das Change Management auf die Führungskräfte auswirkt. Dabei wird sowohl auf die veränderten Anforderungen des Arbeitsplatzes als auch auf die neuen Umfeldbedingungen eingegangen. Anschließend wird gezeigt, dass sich Führungskräfte aller Stufen als Promotoren des Wandels begreifen und sich dementsprechend verhalten müssen. In allen acht Stufen der Führung im Wandel, ist es notwendig, dass sich Leadership- und Managementfähigkeiten ergänzen. Zum Schluss der Arbeit wird kurz auf die spezifischen Anforderungen eingegangen, die die unterschiedlichen Veränderungssituationen an die Führungskräfte stellen.
