Zehntausende fußballbegeisterte Menschen bestaunen ihre Mannschaften im Stadion, sogar Millionen sind über das Fernsehen "live" dabei. In den professionellen Gefilden dieser Sportart steht längst nicht mehr das Spielen mit dem Ball im Vordergrund. Ein Fußballspiel ist eine Inszenierung und die Vermarktung des Spiels macht es zu einem Geschäft. Doch wie kommt es zu diesem Status der Sportart? Diese Hausarbeit soll die Entwicklung von Sport und im Speziellen der Sportart Fußball aufzeigen. Dabei soll es um die Wahrnehmung der Menschen gehen. Ervin Goffman (2016) hat dazu die Rahmenanalyse entwickelt, welche im ersten Teil dieser Ausarbeitung dargestellt wird. Dabei geht Goffman grundsätzlich davon aus, dass der Mensch das Erlebte zunächst in einen "primären Rahmen" (ein Interpretationsschema) einordnet. Diese können durch eine Modulation so umgeformt werden, dass ein anderes Verständnis der Situation oder sogar ein neuer Rahmen entsteht. Die Zivilisationstheorie von Norbert Elias ist ein weiteres Modell, welches in diese Hausarbeit einfließt. Sie beschreibt, wie sich das Verständnis unserer Gesellschaft entwickelt hat, welches in der modernen Welt besteht. Dies bezieht Elias auch auf den Sport. Im Laufe der Hausarbeit werden einzelne Aspekte der beiden soziologischen Theorien immer wieder miteinander verknüpft und so Zusammenhänge dargestellt. Anhand dieser Zusammenhänge wird erklärt, wie der moderne Sportbegriff entstanden ist und wie sich im Laufe der Zeit die Sportart Fußball herauskristallisiert hat. Fußball hat heutzutage eine große Bedeutung in unserer Gesellschaft. Aus dem Spiel ist ein Medienereignis geworden, worauf im Anschluss detaillierter eingegangen wird. In dieser Hausarbeit werden zwei soziologische Theorien auf den Sport bezogen und herausgestellt,
