About the Book

Fun-Schooling Spelling Journal - Ages 5 and Up: Teach Your Child to Read, Write and Spell (Homeschooling for Beginners) (Volume 3)

A2-B2, ideal for ages 5+ (Kindergarten-4th grade)

This book uses very creative ways of teaching children how to become naturally good spellers.There are 180 activity pages so that you can use one page per day during the school year. The method used is a unique approach for teaching visual thinkers who are artistic and intelligent, but may not be doing well with phonics and memorization. It has been said that if children can not learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn. That is why this book is so different from other spelling books!

This spelling method is best for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades, but with mom's help it can be used for children as young as five years old. The activities in this book can be used for Dyslexic children and children who are hyper-active, have ADHD or Autism. Struggling learners thrive with this method!

HomeSchoolingMom found new hope with this book:

"Teaching my son to spelling has been a difficult task. Thinking Tree has given me hope with their dyslexic books. They are awesome! My son is walking around spelling words. We both love this book and more. If your having problems spelling this journal is for you. For us this is a new way of learning. Order your book today!!!!"

Brandy's 9-year-old thrived with this book:

"Recently purchased this book to help make writing a little more fun for my reluctant 9 yr old boy. He enjoys the art work and looking around the house for words, making his own calendar, using words to describe a picture. Hands down this is 1 of the best books I could have bought for him."

This book uses very creative ways of teaching children how to become naturally good spellers.

Do not worry about correcting your child's work until they get to the part of the book where they are writing their own short stories.

By reading their short stories you can identify all the words that the child has trouble spelling. You can teach them those words by having them write each one down seven times in different colors.Do not make any marks or corrections on the child's book, this is his or her spelling journal, and should not be damaged by grades, or marks. Celebrate everything your child shows you in this journal, and remember learning to spell is like learning to talk. Your child will have some very "cute" ways of spelling in the beginning, and all you have to do is play the COLOR GAME with those words, once the child finishes this journal. As the child works through the journal they may start by spelling some things very "creatively" don't worry! When you read their stories at the end of the book you will see that many spelling problems have "self corrected" because of all the spelling games and activities in this book. Spelling can be fun!

Thinking Tree Learning Levels:

A1 = Pre Reader (Pre-K) ages 2-5A2 = Beginning Readers (K-1st) ages 6-7B1 = Early Elementary (2nd-3rd) ages 8-9B2 = Upper Elementary (4th-6th) ages 10-11C1 = Junior High (7th-8th) ages 12-14C2 = High school + (9th-adult) ages 13+

Many Thinking Tree Journals span a wide variety of ages because the students use books at his/her reading level. For example, some journals on Amazon may say for ages 7-17 because you customize it and meet the student where he's at.
