Das Phänomen eines deutlichen Anstiegs der allgemeinen Arbeitsproduktivität gepaart mit einem überraschenderweise gleichzeitigen Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit, aber auch ein rasanter und nicht zu bremsen scheinender Anstieg der Aktienkurse am neuen Markt, sowie regelrechte Entwicklungsexplosionen von Unternehmen des IT-Sektors, beschreiben eine Erscheinung, welche man unter dem Begriff der vielfach diskutierten "New Economy" zusammenfassen kann. Was aber hat es wirklich auf sich mit der "Neuen Wirtschaft"? Was löste den phänomenalen Erfolg einiger Computerunternehmen im Silicon Valley, der Hochburg der New Economy im US-Staat Kalifornien, aus? War es nur der vermehrte Einsatz des PCs in der Arbeitswelt oder gar die Beschleunigung durch den Internet- Hype der 90er Jahre? Sind es tatsächlich vollkommen andere, revolutionäre Formen der Unternehmensorganisation und des Managements? Zum Einen ja, zum Anderen nein. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit versuche ich das Phänomen der "New Economy" ein wenig aufzuschlüsseln. Vor allem aber ist es meine Absicht, aufzuschlüsseln, mit welchen Mitteln der bereits angesprochenen Unternehmensorganisation und besonders mit welchen Funktionen einer sich ebenfalls im Rahmen der "New Economy" entwickelten revolutionären Unternehmenskultur oder - Philosophie, es den "Dotcom - Unternehmen" der Computerbranche möglich war, den Durchbruch in eine neue Ära zu schaffen. Im ersten Abschnitt dieser Arbeit zum Thema "Funktionen der Unternehmenskultur" - Der Fall des "Silicon Valley" / Der Fall der "New Economy",
