Dabei wird die Beziehung der Brüder und des Vaters mit verschiedenen Brüdern und Vätern in der Bibel gesetzt. Schillers Erstlingswerk "Die Räuber" ist geprägt von Intrigen, Regelbruch und verschiedenen familiären Konflikten. Und während der Zuschauer die Möglichkeit erhält, das Gute und Böse selbst zu beurteilen, arbeitet Schiller weitere Informationen in sein Werk ein. So weisen Handlungsabläufe signifikante Parallelen zu biblischen Geschichten auf, teilweise wird sogar direkt auf diese Bibelstellen Bezug genommen. Dabei immer als Thema erkennbar: Ein Konflikt zwischen Sohn und Vater oder Bruder und Bruder, wobei jedoch der Bruderkonflikt aus dem Vaterkonflikt resultiert. In dieser Arbeit soll untersucht werden, inwiefern diese Konflikte eine bestimmte Botschaft vermitteln, verstärken, ob sie einen Kontrapunkt zur Geschichte setzen oder mit ihnen vorausgedeutet wird. Auch die Ausarbeitung der Rollenbilder für Väter und Söhne in den herangezogenen Bibelgleichnissen kann die Sichtweise auf Maximilian Moor, seine Söhne und andere Akteure im Drama verändern, wenn diesen entsprochen oder eben mit ihnen gebrochen wird. Das Infragestellen der starken Vaterfigur ist ein beliebtes Motiv im Sturm und Drang und zeichnet sich auch in Schillers "Die Räuber" deutlich ab. Hierfür bietet sich die Bibel als Kontrapunkt an, da sie zumeist zwei Vaterfiguren gleichzeitig bereitstellt, an welcher das Verhalten der dramatischen Vaterfiguren gemessen werden kann.
