About the Book

After previous editions of the same garnered good reviews from the readers, the eighth edition of the Fundamentals of Physics Extended by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker, is all set to carry the legacy forward. Summary Of The Book Fundamentals of Physics Extended begins by acting as a step-by-step guide that helps in understanding the core concepts of physics and then applying them to solve quantitative problems. The text combines both theory and application to hone the skills of the reader in every field. Concepts like force, motion, and relativity, all find a mention in this text. Every physics fundamentals have been presented with cautious accuracy. Each chapter has a chapter-related problem and is solved and explained before further delving in to the topic in question. In this new edition, each chapter contains numerous, new and improved problems at the end, and several tips and techniques for error-free problem solving are present to assist the beginner. Some advanced problems in the book require a stronghold of mathematics. All in all, this book can prove to be useful to both beginners as well as advanced readers. The eighth edition of Fundamentals of Physics Extended came out on May 1, 2008. It has met with fairly mixed reviews. About The Authors David Halliday was a physicist of American origin. Other books by David Halliday include the various editions of Fundamentals of Physics. He has written another book titled Physics. Both books are widely recommended and used. Halliday worked for the MIT’s radiation lab during the Second World War and developed radar techniques. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and got his graduate, postgraduate, and PhD. degrees there. His books on physics have sold widely and continue to be in use. Born in Maryland, Baltimore, Robert Resnick served as professor at Rennselear Polytechnic Institute. Books by Resnick include Introduction to Special Relativity and Basic Concepts in Relativity and Early Quantum Theory. At the University of Pittsburgh, Resnick met David Halliday, with whom he would later collaborate to work on various editions of this book. He was also honoured with the Oersted Medal by the American Association of Physics Teachers, and he served as the president of that society for four years. Teacher of physics at Cleveland State University, Jearl Walker is a prominent American physicist and writer. Some books by Jearls Walker include The Flying Circus of Physics, Principles of Physics, Roundabout: The Principles of Rotation in Everyday World,  and Light and its Uses. He was the first person to receive the Outstanding Teacher’s Award for his term at Cleveland University. Walker is known for his bold, often eccentric, physics demonstrations The writing in this edition of Fundamentals of Physics Extended is simple, explanatory, and lucid. Thoroughly scrutinised and well explained, it’s an easy read.

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
