About the Author: Mid-2007 Harry Felker had changed, from someone who was one of those "Deaf-Mutes" to someone who was beginning to become quite aware of the reality of the situation around him. Like most, barely aware something was wrong, but not caring enough to really think about it; maybe Harry Felker was too busy just surviving to notice. Then someone had thrown it in his face, that someone was Dr. Ron Paul, there was something direly wrong with the America he lived in. Harry Felker began to take notice. He looked at the world and really paid attention and it was inescapable, verily inconceivable that he did not notice this beforehand; Harry Felker would say he was dumbfounded, but Harry was far too angry at the state of affairs. He had written a couple of poetry pieces that summer in reflection of his awakening to the inherent wrongness he felt but still was not aptly equipped to identify. For a year after he had been studying, reading and commenting on social interaction sites and forums in order to really understand what was wrong with what he had come to know as the US and what it ought to be. He had sought counsel in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and other historical sources, all the time commenting on what it was he was finding and what it meant in reference to the current state of affairs. He had eaten the pill of Ron Paul's limited government doctrine; the support seemed to be there from the founding documents, that a government ought to be limited in power to protect its citizen's liberties. In this respect he did have a sense of gratitude to Ron Paul, without his presidential bid he may have been scrolling around in the dark for much longer. Harry Felker had believed that government had a proper role, to defend the liberty of its citizens, the three branches defended the citizens from each other and in the worst case the citizens had the obligation to be the last line of defense for their liberty. He knew the problem was the government and he believed that it was the monolithic and out of control nature it displayed, he was literally grabbing at all straws for a solution.
