  • About the Author: Mike Woosley earned his Ph.D. in engineering from The University of Virginia and has done stints working at Los Alamos National Lab, Oak Ridge National Lab, and for the Atomic Energy Commission in France. Since 1999 Mike, has worked as an officer at a string of companies in digital media, usually related to the technology and optimization that make media and information free, fast, and ubiquitous. Mike starting thinking about Ideal Weight when he realized that many lethargic adults attribute lack of energy to aging, when it's actually related to weight. He noticed that many adults less than 30 pounds overweight don't realize they are overweight, or that excess weight is sapping energy and optimism. Mike started experimenting with intermittent fasting in 2006, and has been amazed and elated by the string of compel-ling research and public awareness of the necessity and benefits of this technique in improving health. Mike is an NSPA certified personal trainer. In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing hockey, cooking, eating, solving brain-bending puzzles, landscaping, and fixing every-thing that four kids break around the house.
