Calvin Swift Jr, his biological Father, as well as his mother were born in New Roads La. He received his high school diploma from Skyline High School in Dallas Texas in 1978, attended Video Technical Institution in 1980, graduated, and went on to attend Bishop College, where he was influenced by a visiting professor a distinguished American scholar & historian, Dr J. Lowry influenced him to continual to be a member of Dubois, famed talented 10th. Q says he is a disciple of Diopism, named after Cheikh Anta Diop. Bishop College is where he first dreamed of becoming a writer. However he believed that he didn't have enough life experience to write memoirs, so he move to New Orleans in the summer of 82, where he worked as an apprentice at the prestige's Afro House barber and beauty shop. Working at The Afro House, under the tillage of William Gant, and the Gants, gave him all the skills, and training he needed to become a business man, an award winning hairstyles and a public speaker. "Dallas" Velma B's beauty academy, have provided him with the calling card he needed to open the doors for him through out the USA. Quinn attended DCCCD colleges'; El Centro, Eastfield with an, Certification in Supervision, Management, and Associate degree in Applied Arts. It was his first semester at Cedar Valley College, where he received 12 credit hours in a joint class of African American history, combined with Drama, where he study African American Film, taught by Dr Rollin who is a African American History professor, and Dr Cotton who is a Drama professor, and an actor. combined classes, of history and drama, alone with computer sciences, and American Government during his first semester set the stages for him to create an online store called (you make it hot) located on macphipps.com .
