L'acier pour filière à chaud H-13 possède les propriétés suivantes: haute résistance à la chaleur, dureté, bonne résistance à la chaleur, bonne ténacité à chaud, haute résistance à la fatigue thermique et à l'usure à chaleur moyenne. Les paramètres d'entrée qui affectent le taux d'enlèvement de matière (TAM) et la rugosité de surface pendant l'opération de fraisage sont la vitesse de coupe, l'avance, le taux et la profondeur de coupe. Le présent travail visait à optimiser la valeur des paramètres d'entrée afin d'améliorer le taux d'enlèvement de matière et la rugosité de surface pour l'acier à matrice H-13. Pour ce faire, le logiciel Minitab 15 a été utilisé pour le plan d'expérience de Taguchi (réseau orthogonal L-9) avec un rapport signal/bruit et une approche ANOVA. Il a été conclu que pendant l'opération de fraisage en bout, l'utilisation d'une vitesse de coupe élevée (3000 tr/min.), d'une vitesse d'avance (0,15 mm/dent) et d'une profondeur de coupe (0,2 mm) étaient des paramètres optimisés pour obtenir un meilleur état de surface pour la plage de test spécifique dans un matériau H13. En outre, la vitesse d'avance et la vitesse de coupe se sont avérées être les facteurs les plus importants pour l'état de surface par rapport à la profondeur de coupe.
