About the Author: ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shawn Lane was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Life Skills Center of Akron in 2000. Shortly after he joined the US Navy at age nineteen. In the US Navy he was an Electricians Mate and a Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical). After nine and a half years, and multiple awards, he left with a honorable discharge and returned home to be with his son and family. Starting over wasn't easy. At thirty, he moved back in his mother's attic for the first six months. He was attempting to find a job while collecting unemployment. He was also making music for his second album. It was to be released under his own record label. He became extremely discouraged and gave up the idea. He could not see that he was worth more than where he was at that moment in time. He then got a break with a job fixing cranes. He moved into his high school girlfriend's parents' house. He took up half of their basement. On the side, he started a comic book eBay store. Excited about the future and with his confidence growing from the ability to quickly sell items worldwide, he decided to learn more about confidence and inspiration. He remembered that while in the US Navy he loved to train and help people grow. He remembered that he and other shipmates formed a group based off of the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" audiobook and how it changed not only them individually, but everyone as a whole. He decided to get back into reading as much as he could. He stumbled across people like Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, Tai Lopez and many more, all who inspired him to aim higher than he ever thought to be possible. He currently lives with his son outside of Akron, Ohio. Minutes away from the streets he walked on, the porches he sat on and the people who he grew up with, never forgetting that it all started there, listening to his Walkman, wanting more than just to survive. While he is not a millionaire or even financially secure(at the time of writing this book) he is creating a brand of himself via YouTube, his blog site, and his online store. He wants to reach out and show the people that are discouraged like he once was that nothing is impossible. You can find out more at www.justshawnlane.com, www.comickitchen.com and there on links to YouTube on both sites.
