About the Author: Gale D. Stanton has studied and worked in mental health and wellness for over three decades. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan, and has worked as a Registered Occupational Therapist in psychiatric hospitals in Michigan and Florida. She became a Pediatric Therapy Specialist for California Children Services prior to becoming a Program Director for a private college in San Diego, California, where she taught classes in Life-Span Development and Psychosocial Functioning. As an educator and program director, she developed an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education. Ms. Stanton has both personal and professional experience with marriage and divorce. Urged by female clients and associates to create a relationship book that men would actually read, she developed Two for the Road, published in 2016. Written in a manual format that appeals to men, the relationship principles in the book are universal to both sexes. She designed this unique relationship guide to get the conversation started between couples. Two for the Road includes content and interactive exercises that promote constructive dialogues instead of one-sided monologues. A Fork in the Road is her second book about relationships and marriage. Raised in the suburb Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, outside of Detroit (the "Motor City"), she currently resides in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.
