About the Book

*(READ AUTHOR'S NOTE AT BOTTOM.)*

Even at the heart of his wildest dreams, Vincent Grey could never fathom his whole world disappearing into death's maw... Especially when his own boring life was the last thing on his clouded mind...

He was a nobody...

An outcast even amongst his own kind...

Yet despite his unfortunate existence, the young Pureblood tavern boy had learned to enjoy the simple peace that came with being born a 'red-eyed devil'... Even though he always had to hide his unwanted face...

... but just like the many other dwelling souls of The Known Realm's borders, the young dreamer within him still believed that his world would somehow find peace from the madness, and always told himself that someday it would all be over. So while he waited for better days, Vincent spent any chance he got daydreaming in his secret haven... Thinking of the day his best friend, Skye Lennox, would come back home from the war to see him again...

... Until a living nightmare wanted to steal his dream away from him.

(Authors Note)
Hervalha, weary eyes! If you're reading this, then please know of how grateful I am that you've discovered my little corner of the realm. This has been a huge dream of mine for over a decade, and I hope you'll take the leap and discover the universe within these gilded pages.

But onto the matter at hand...
I took this version down so that a better version could be sold.

Due to multiple misfortunes at the time, when I first published this story, I rushed both this version, (along with the original version), and honestly just didn't know what I was doing. At the time of the first one, I was losing my mother, and so I published super earlier than I wanted/needed to so she could see it. I was new to kdp, didn't understand anything (cause I'm a caveman) and never realized I could order proofs till it was too late. I will never regret my decision, and so I tried again the following year to do it *correctly* (by that I mean still not reading/learning how to use kdp the right way, and not ordering proofs before publishing, or learning to do the correct sizes.), and made this version...
... but then I found out my dad's diagnosis...
... and lost him as well the following year.
I honestly do hate I didn't just wait to try and work/learn how to be a better author till after their deaths, but I truly wanted them to see it... and so I kept my word. Now I've done everything I could make both of them proud, and took over a year to make sure when I finally did this the right way, it would all be worth it.
So if you're will, (or still reading tbh), and want the *real* copy, just go to thedeadhouses.com, and follow the link to its page. I'm so overly grateful to everyone that has supported me, as well as this dream.

May you never truly be forgotten.
