About the Book

In the evening of 11th July 1996, Bathani Tola in Bhojpur district of Bihar (India) started cracking with gunfire all around. The seven militiamen from Ranvir Sena entered the small village shooting down every human they saw. The headman and the founder of the militia, Mukhiyaji Brahmeshwar Singh was heading ahead carrying two AK-47 rifles, one in his shoulder and other in his right hand. And the six people behind him were also fully armed. Their target was the poor and more than poor lower-class villagers who supported the Communist Party's radical Naxalite movement in the state. At the first turn of the dark street they saw a man carrying a vegetable bag. Thaak! The bullet shot by the headman Mukhiyaji broke into his forehead. He hit him with his leg to make sure the man was dead. They gave a glance at his motionless body and moved ahead. A woman from a small hut could see the man die. She broke into a loud cry signaling the others to run away from their huts. But again! Thaak! The headman's cousin Rajveer had already aimed at her and the bullet tore into her private part. A throng of blood from her pubis reddened the entire ground. "Right aim," said a man tapping his back. "The most ruthless, isn't it?" Rajveer enquired. "Not yet, perhaps this," the man named Akhilesh said from far behind. And his rifle roared. The bullet puffed up the abdomen of a very small child trying to escape! "They all are radicalist, kill them off," he said in his loudest voice. After the three gun-fires the villagers started running away in panic. Some scuttled in furor, some toppled in tremor, and some were shocked and left to be butchered. The six of them were shot by Mukhiaji in a single strike. Remaining twelve people including four women and three children, trembling in fear and gawking in horror, were chopped off one after another. There was a pool of blood all around. Their dead-bodies numbering twenty-one were dragged to the center of the village, and they starting cutting off the heads of all of them. After it was done, they packed the heads in a bag and got on the heels to come back to their cesspool. They returned to the corner where their jeep was parked and being looked after by Dharichan Chaudhary who was the co-founder of Ranveer Sena. They were the upper-class headhunter goons from neighboring village Khopira of Bhojpur district. In the morning, the bag was loaded in a truck with a tag letter written by Mukhiyaji himself. The truck was driven to Patna Railway Station, and by the late afternoon, the driver with two other men dragged the bag down to the railway platform. Leaving it in the crowded pedestrian-path, they dispersed at large. From the bag, the human blood started leaking down. Reddening the cotton cover it got dropping down to the ground. First the collies, then the passengers, and then the police took that into notice. They gawk at the letter tagged on it. It reads... Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Che Guevara, Mao Zedong, Charu Majumdar, Naxal terrorists, and the Communist Party - you all son of the bitch! And next day, this carnage became a headline of the entire world!
