About the Author: Ronnie Ray Jenkins (1957-) was raised in the Appalachians of Pennsylvania. Born, one of eleven children of a coal miner, Jenkins brings a new voice, and narration in his works. Gritty, to the point, and at times, humorous, many of his works deal with the struggles of the Appalachian common folk. He has authored three novels, and two collections of short stories.
