Einleitung Richard Sennett (2000) beschreibt in dem Buch "Der flexible Mensch - Die Kultur des neuen Kapitalismus" eingehend die Formen der Flexibilisierung von Unternehmen in den Vereinigten Staaten, welche sich insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund der Internationalisierung der Märkte, des globalen Finanzmarktkapitalismus sowie dem verstärkten Konkurrenzdruck herausgebildet haben. Die Unternehmen können sich mit flexiblen Strukturen eher nachfrageorientiert an die Bedürfnisse der Kunden anpassen, schneller und leichter auf Markterfordernisse reagieren und ihre Strukturen kurzfristig umorganisieren, um besser im (globalen) Wettbewerb mithalten zu können. Für die Beschäftigten haben sich damit viele flexible Beschäftigungsverhältnisse herausgebildet, so sind sie beispielsweise in befristeten Arbeitsverhältnissen angestellt, als Leiharbeitnehmer an wechselnden Orten tätig oder arbeiten in zeitlich begrenzten Projekten mit stetig neuen Arbeitskollegen, etc. Die Flexibilisierung der Märkte wirkt bis hinein in die persönliche Lebensführung und die soziale Lebenswelt der einzelnen Menschen, Reorganisierungsprozesse in den Unternehmen führen zu (Neu-) Orientierungsprozessen bei den Beschäftigten. Sennett hat für die USA exemplarisch aufgezeigt wie die erhöhte Flexibilität und Mobilität nicht nur zu arbeitsbezogenen Veränderungen, sondern darüber hinaus auch zu psychischen Verunsicherungen bei den Individuen führen kann. Mit dieser Hausarbeit möchte ich ansatzweise der Frage nachgehen inwiefern sich die Bundesrepublik mit dem Modell des Rheinländischen Kapitalismus sowie der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft und den sozialstaatlich geregelten Lohnarbeitsverhältnissen von der Arbeitsmarktpolitik in den Vereinigten Staaten und ihrem anglo-amerikanis
