Lothar Ruediger, Seefahrer aus Berufung, erzaehlt in diesem Band 45 in Romanform sehr kompetent seinen beruflichen Werdegang als Wachingenieur auf "CAP VALIENTE" und "CAP SAN LORENZO" bei der Hamburg-Sued in weltweiter Fahrt sowie ueber sein weiteres Studium in Flensburg. Im Band 44 berichtete er bereits ueber den Beginn seiner Seefahrt 1956 als Maschinen-Assistent auf dem Logger "RUDOLF BREITSCHEID" des Fischkombinats Rostock. 1957 war er als Ing.-Assi auf dem Nordatlantikliner BERLIN des Norddeutschen Lloyd und spaeter auf dem Tanker CAPERATA der Deutschen Shell taetig. Danach das Studium zum Schiffsingenieur in Flensburg. - Ueber seine weitere Entwicklung und seine Fahrzeit als Leitender Ingenieur (Chief) berichtet er im Band 46 dieser maritimen gelben Buchreihe. Aus einer Rezension zu diesem Band: Lothar Ruediger kann schreiben. Er verfasst seine Buecher in einer fluessigen Sprache. Daher sind sie auch für Leser, die nie zur See gefahren sind, verstaendlich und interessant. Flarrow, der Chief nimmt alle ehemaligen Seeleute mit auf die Reise. Er beschreibt das jeweilige Schiff so detailliert, dass man förmlich mit ihm an Bord herumgeht, man sitzt in seiner Kammer und in der Messe. Ganz besonders gilt das fuer Maschinenleute, vom Reiniger bis zum Wachingenieur. Als ehemaliger Ing.-Assistent oder Ingenieur lebt der Leser wieder im Maschinenraum, ueberwacht die Armaturen, geht Manoeverwache oder legt einen Hilfsdiesel auf die Flurplatten. Zum Kloenen und Essen sitzt man wieder in der Offiziersmesse und flaxt mit den "Decksbauern". Alles echt! Auch der Storekeeper und seine Leute finden sich in der Maschine wieder. Die Seemannssprache ist nicht uebertrieben und wird sparsam, aber treffend benutzt: zutoernen, eintoernen, Bauernnacht, teatime, smoketime etc. Zu diesem Buch wie zu dem ersten von "Flarrow" greift der Leser immer wieder gerne zurueck. Rezension zur maritimen gelben Reihe: Ich bin immer wieder begeistert von der "Gelben Buchreihe". Die Baende reissen einen einfach mit und vermitteln einem das Gefuehl, mitten in den Besatzungen der Schiffe zu sein. Inzwischen habe ich ca. 20 Baende erworben und freue mich immer wieder, wenn ein neues Buch erscheint. Oder: Saemtliche von Juergen Ruszkowski aus Hamburg herausgegebene Buecher sind absolute Highlights der Seefahrts-Literatur. Dieser Band macht da keine Ausnahme. Sehr interessante und abwechselungsreiche Themen aus verschiedenen Zeitepochen, die mich von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite gefesselt haben! Man kann nur staunen, was der Mann in seinem Ruhestand schon veroeffentlich hat. Alle Achtung!
