Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich BWL - Organisation, Note: 1,8, Cologne Business School Köln, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Dass die Umsetzung flacher Hierarchien nur schrittweise geschieht und dabei auch in vielen Fällen mit großen Schwierigkeiten einhergeht, soll in dieser Arbeit kritisch betrachtet werden. Dabei soll zum einen auf den Wandel der Arbeitswelt im Allgemeinen eingegangen werden. Um die Effektivität und die Sinnhaftigkeit flacher Hierarchien einordnen und verstehen zu können, muss herausgearbeitet werden, wieso flache Hierarchien in unserer Arbeitswelt heutzutage als erstrebenswert und zeitgerecht gelten. Welche Bedürfnisse und Erwartungen stehen dahinter? Gleichzeitig gilt es, zu verstehen, welche Hindernisse sich dennoch bei der praktischen Umsetzung ergeben. Diese Hindernisse müssen schließlich so stark und grundsätzlich sein, dass sie trotz der artikulierten Bereitschaft und auch dem vorhandenen Wunsch danach, Hierarchien abzubauen, nur schwierig zu umschiffen sind. Anhand der Theorie soll hergeleitet und argumentiert werden, dass gesellschaftlicher Wandel, angetrieben etwa durch den Megatrend Individualisierung, einen Wandel der Arbeitswelt begründet, dem sich Unternehmen nicht verwehren können. Es mag teilweise populär sein, Unternehmen als Treiber des Wandels zu betrachten; tatsächlich sind sie jedoch in erster Linie 'Getriebene', die auf gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen reagieren. Gleichzeitig jedoch treffen die daraus resultierenden gesellschaftlichen Ideale auf natürlich verankerte, hierarchische Strukturen in menschlichen Gruppenprozessen, die nur schwer zu durchbrechen sind. Organisationen stehen nun im Mittelpunkt dieses Konflikts und müssen ihn lösen. Diese Arbeit soll daher die Frage beantworten, ob der beobachtete und argumentierte Widerspruch zwischen Individualisierung und hierarchischen Tendenzen im menschlichen Verhalten sich als relevanter Faktor beobachten lässt, der Schwierigkeiten in der Umsetzung flacher Hierarch
