Just the mere mention of them brings to mind talking animals, lost princesses, shinning knight on white horses charging towards villainous dragons, and a shared desire to one day find the person you were destined to spend your life with, happily ever after.
In the modern day and age, these words are synonymous with musical numbers, talking automobiles, domestic superheroes, an insect circus and a soulful robot saving the planet one piece of trash at a time, all thanks to one man and his successful animation studio. But let's take a step back, back to when happy endings were not the norm, back to when fairy tales were designed to be dark tales to teach morals to queens, kings and children alike. We have taken those stories, the dark stories of the 19th century or even earlier, unwound the twists and turns, added 21st century flaws and re-wound the stories into tales that breathe new life into ancient tales.
