About the Author: I am of Native American/Scottish decent born and raised on Vancouver Island. An Island Girl at heart, what does this mean. I grew up in a small town where I could walk almost anywhere I wanted to get to. My life though was not all sunshine and roses. I was the daughter of a known criminal. My father was in and out of my life growing up, he spent at least half my life in prison and I was raised mostly by a single mother. We weren't rich and I was always an outsider in school being told I was wise beyond my years I ended up making friends with people much older than me. As a child this meant mostly senior citizens they just got me. My mother would lose me and find me with the old ladies on the ferry playing "People Watching" she would ask "Why can't you be like the other kids and go off to the arcade sometime." The rest of my time was spent with my head in a book, by 11 I had consumed all Anne Rice had to write. I was hooked on Vampires and Witches from the get go. In these imaginary worlds I could escape my own lonely life. I still do, I read whatever I can get my hands on these days it is anything by Stephen King.
