Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Veranstaltung: Seminar Wertheriaden, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Briefroman "Die Leiden des jungen Werthers", im Jahr 1774 im Zuge der Leipziger Buchmesse erschienen, konnte sich bereits zur Zeit seiner Erstveröffentlichung trotz der anfänglichen Anonymität des Autors großer Beliebtheit erfreuen. Der Roman erzählt die Geschichte des Protagonisten Werther, der sich in die Verlobte eines anderen Mannes verliebt, an dem wachsenden Zwiespalt seiner Gefühle schließlich verzweifelt und den Selbstmord wählt. Erzählt wird - abgesehen von Vor- und Nachwort des sogenannten Herausgebers - in Form von monologischen Briefen Werthers an seinen Freund Wilhelm, in denen er über die Entwicklungen zwischen ihm selbst, seiner geliebten Lotte und deren Verlobtem und späterem Ehemann Albert schreibt. Die bis heute anhaltende Popularität des Werther-Stoffs spiegelt sich vor allem in einer langen Reihe von literarischen Annäherungsversuchen anderer Autoren wider, die man unter dem Begriff der sogenannten "Wertheriaden" zusammenfasst. Trotz eines großen Angebots an Sekundärliteratur zum Thema Wertherwirkung, die die Beziehungen zwischen Handlung und Stil des Goethes Ursprungsroman und dieser Adaptionen analysiert, schenkt die Wertheriaden-Forschung der Bedeutung von Lottes Ehemann Albert bisher wenig Aufmerksamkeit. Der Grund dafür liegt auf der Hand: Es gibt kaum Autoren, die dieser Figur mehr Bedeutung beimessen und sie in den Mittelpunkt ihrer Adaptionen rücken. Drei dieser seltenen Beispiele sind die Gedichte "Albert an Lottchen", "Albert nach Werthers Tode" und "Albert an Werthers Geist", die in großen Zeitabständen verfasst wurden und der Nebenrolle eine Stimme verleihen.
