About the Author: Meet the wedding minister who is on a mission to start a "movie foodie" revolution, Interfaith Minister Stacey Moore. Stacey is Fellini's Kitchen's head cook and the author of the Reel to Real Recipes Act - 1 First Bites, Reel to Real Recipes Act-2 Entrees and Sides and The Best Movie Recipes Ever: A sample collection of movie food recipes. Stacey grew up surrounded by the movie industry. She was born and raised just south of the miracle mile district of Los Angeles, CA. She even attended Carthay Center Elementary School, a school built in the 1920s to serve the booming studio industry community. At an early age, Stacey loved cooking and watching movies. She speaks fondly of standing on a chair in her mother's kitchen creating Jell-O molds (like the ones you see in the movie, The Help). She fried her first chicken when just eight years old. By the time, Stacey was 23 years old, the bright eyed inner city gastronomist with a flair for the dramatic found herself divorced and raising two babies alone. A high school dropout, She relied on what she knew to make a living for her family: movies and food. Stacey began working in the industry as a Crafty for Jill Heydorff Craft Services. She worked long hours catering on-set snacks for entire production crew's; stars and extras alike. She worked all of the major studios: Paramount, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros., Santa Clarita and Fox, but it was a Burger King commercial at the Carthay Studios that gave her insight into what it takes to create beautiful food on film. Inspired, Stacey watched for hours as a crew of Food Stylists with tongs and tweezers constructed the perfect, film worthy cheese burger. It was a bitter sweet experience because all at once she realized that the great looking movie food she had coveted for years was inedible. It was as they say, "Hollywood magic." Stacey knew then that the real magic is the kind you can make yourself. After she left the Crafty scene, Stacey started her own, event planning and catering company. She planned events for Non-profit organizations, entertainment executives and other Hollywood sorts. A late bloomer on the intellectual stage, Stacey completed a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology at California State University, Northridge where she graduated with honors. Now Stacey has returned to her passions; movies and food with a goal to take reel recipes that look great on film and turn them in to real food that you can eat, share, and enjoy.
