About the Book

Bei internen Assessment Centern (ACs) befinden sich die Teilnehmer zumeist während der gesamten Durchführung im Unklaren darüber, welche Leistungsanforderungen an sie gestellt werden und inwiefern sie in der Lage sind, die zum erfolgreichen Bestehen des ACs notwendigen Fähigkeiten unter Beweis stellen zu können. Erst in den Feedback-Gesprächen, die zumeist am Ende eines ACs durchgeführt werden, erhalten die Teilnehmer nach der Ergebnisauswertung eine umfassende Rückmeldung über ihre gezeigten Stärken und Schwächen. Hier kann dann das Selbstbild, das die Teilnehmer von sich besitzen, mit dem Fremdbild abgeglichen werden, welches die Assessoren während der Beobachtung entwickelt haben. Somit kann den Feedback-Situationen ein hoher Stellenwert zugesprochen werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund muss der Fähigkeit des Feedback-Gebers zu einfühlsamen und motivierendem Feedback eine große Relevanz beigemessen werden, da eventuelle Frustrationen bei den Teilnehmern nur durch eine gut begründete und deutlich nachvollziehbare Argumentations- und Vermittlungsweise begrenzt und somit negative Auswirkungen auf die Leistungsmotivation vermieden werden können. In der Praxis kann aufgrund des bestehenden Zeitmangels und/oder fehlender Feedback-Kompetenz der Assessoren die Gefahr bestehen, dass durch unpassendes Feedback vor allem solche Teilnehmer, bei denen Entwicklungspotenziale festgestellt wurden, eine Rückmeldung erhalten, die sie nicht oder nur in geringem Maße zu weiterer erfolgsorientierter Leistungserbringung motiviert. Besonders problematisch sind Einschätzungen, die eine grundsätzliche Potenzialaberkennung beinhalten, welche die Teilnehmer während ihrer weiteren Laufbahn in der Unternehmung begleitet. In der themenbezogenen Literatur wird Feedback-Situationen - entgegen der skizzierten großen Bedeutung - nur relativ wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt.
