About the Book

This heart-warming story picks up where Outlook Hill left off. After the horrific farm attack on Gareth, her husband, Tammy is forced to confront many challenges on her own. Forced to make quick decisions to protect her two small children, she makes many changes to her life and her life crosses paths with new people and new adventures along the way.

"Tammy walked with Henry towards Gareth's bed, and took Henry's hand in hers. "Hello love, how are you feeling? I brought Henry along as well. Mum is at home with the kids." Tammy looked over at Henry and signalled for him to talk to Gareth. "Hey buddy, how you doing? I have seen you looking better that is for sure. Hang in there Gareth, we are all rooting for you champ. You can do this." Tammy again held Gareth's hand and told him she loved him and that the kids were missing him. "Babe, mum and Henry will come visit you this afternoon. She needs a break from those two hooligans of ours. And your mothers lounge looks like a kindergarten play zone."
"Gareth, we are not allowed to stay long at all, hang in there, I will be back later with the old woman. I get to see you twice a day, in the morning with a young duck, in the afternoon, the old one." He indicated to Tammy that he would wait for her outside. "Baby, I love you, and I am missing you. Dig deeper love, I need you home, and the kids need their daddy. You are all we have. I will see you tomorrow morning."
Again, she slipped her head in amongst the pipes and tubes and managed a peck on the cheek. He still felt cold and clammy to her, but she tried to ignore it. Tammy left the ward and found Henry sitting outside. "Tammy, how do you do it? I knew he was critical, but all that piping and tubing? I battled in there girl. But I am glad I came with you, because I know now. How will Mellissa cope? At least I can prepare her; and I for the fall out that is going to follow. It is going to be bad."
This pattern became the normal pattern of visiting Gareth. Tammy and Henry, or sometimes just Tammy in the morning, Mellissa and Henry in the afternoon .
One Saturday when she clears out her storage unit, she discovers that the one person she thought she knew so well, was actually a stranger, and she did not know him at all. The storage unit delivers up some hidden treasures that almost landed in the trash. When Tammy does some research into their background, she pieces together the life that was Mike. The diamonds were witness to a terrible tragedy; their owners obliterated during the second world war; but they contribute to her new adventures in a life as a single woman in South Africa and beyond.
But just as she gets her life together, the universe delivers another shock in the form of murder, and she becomes sole guardian of a third child. It is now that Tammy decides that the children deserve a better life; and with the help of her friend Fabio, she leaves for Italy with three young children and a dream.

"Paul smiled at her and said "Rome is a lovely place Tammy. I used to love Rome. But I guess I may just have finally found somewhere I may love more. I am going to be quite honest with you right now. I watched you and your family all the way here on the flight. I noticed how patient you were, and how caring. I also noticed you had no wedding ring on. I wondered what an attractive woman like you was doing alone on a plane with three young children. It was not a mistake to take your hand luggage. Like you I waited for the plane to empty, and then took your hand luggage, hoping that somehow, we would make contact. And here we are."
"You took the wrong bag on purpose? When I realised it was not my bag left behind, I still thought to myself it must be a single guy in a rush, doesn't bother to check properly! But yes, here we are, laughing at your pranks Paul.
