Ein Milliardär, der Mastermind, wird beauftragt das Projekt zu steuern und zu finanzieren. Mehrere Gruppen von Christen werden dazu überzeugt, für das Erscheinen des Sündhaften im Oberbewusstsein zu beten. Das Sündhafte macht alle Menschen krank. Die Heilung ist möglich durch wahre Vergebung. Die wahre von Gott gewollte Vergebung wird von einem Piratensender über Eindringen in die beiden größten TV-Sender gelehrt. Immer mehr Menschen werden krank. Es gibt keine gesunden Fluglotsen, Piloten, Lok-Führer, Fahrer von U-Bahnen und Lkws mehr. Der Verkehr kommt weitgehend zum Erliegen, auch die Verwaltungen und die Wirtschaft. Es gibt keine Medikamente, weil die Pharmaunternehmen keine gesunden Arbeiter haben und nicht mehr produzieren. Es gibt kaum noch Strom. Tankstellen haben kaum noch Kraftstoff. Der Papst, der zu Besuch in den USA ist, kann dem kranken Präsident nicht helfen, nur sein Beichtvater. Die Regierung, soweit sie noch arbeitsfähig ist, ist verzweifelt, steht der Krise eher ratlos gegenüber, weiß nicht, wie sie die Krise bewältigen und beseitigen kann. Die USA stehen vor einem Kollaps. Das FBI jagt die Betreiber des Piratensenders und sucht die Gruppen von Betern, damit sie aufhören, für das Erscheinen des Sündhaften zu beten. Eine Gruppe von Beterinnen und Betern hatte als Vorübung für eine Stunde den Strom für Las Vegas abgeschaltet und später für die Börse an der Wallstreet. Die Gruppen von Betern hatten dann für die große Aufgabe zur Verstärkung ihrer Gebete in der Grabeskirche von Betlehem geweihte Kreuze erhalten. Das FBI sucht den Mastermind, kämpft gegen vermuteten Gebetsterrorismus. Die Piratensender werden vom FBI ausgeschaltet, nachdem die CIA die hierfür benötigte spezielle Technik beschafft hatte. 2 Reverends, vom Mastermind und den Himmeln ausgesucht, lehren in Großveranstal
