Cada año un grupo de duendes y otro de brujas iban a celebrar sus reuniones en las mismas fechas en el paraje del Fantasma, quien estaba condenado a vagar en esta región por mentiroso.

Los gnomos habían llevado a cabo sus festejos anuales en el Campo de los Venados Azules; hasta que el príncipe Pancracio, encolerizado con ellos, mandó derramar la presa sobre el Campo y lo inundó para que no pudieron volver a utilizarlo.
Las hechiceras de una amplia región estuvieron haciendo sus siniestras celebraciones en un campo tétrico a orillas de Santa Eustolia, hasta que el Cura Camilo, quien era botánico, experto campesino y curador, lo transformó en un vergel que las repelía, y no pudieron utilizar más.

A esto se debía que hechiceras y duendes compartieran el paraje del Fantasma Mentiroso, disputando violentamente, y armando grandes trifulcas que el Espectro agrandaba, volviéndose invisible y lanzándoles ondas que les provocaban intensas e irresistible ganas de ser mentirosos, y hacían crecer el poder pernicioso de las brujas, pero dañaba a los duendes y a los humanos.
Por eso, cargadas de ondas mentirosas, las maléficas, se volvieron poderosas, y subyugaron a los duendecillos, y atacaron a un pueblo cercano llamado Sacramento de donde era el Fantasma.
Memoria Imaginación y Alegría Sinceridad, seres mágicos con forma de mujer, defendieron el pueblo y a su gente de las brujas, deshaciendo tormentas y hechizos.

Las arpías se fueron encolerizadas al paraje y arremetieron contra los duendes, dejándolos terriblemente dañados.
El Fantasma intentó ayudar a los geniecillos, descargándoles sus ondas mentirosas, pero se dio cuenta que los perjudicaba más. Perplejo por ello se descuidó y pudo ser visto, oído y tocado, por todos.
Duendes y hechiceras al verlo le preguntaron quién era. Él dijo ser el espíritu del Príncipe Pancracio y fue severamente maltratado por los duendes. Para evitar que lo siguieran castigando, el Espectro confesó que lo que había dicho era mentira.
Entonces le preguntaron quién era realmente y volviendo a mentir dijo que era el alma de Camilo el párroco de Santa Eustolia. Las brujas lo castigaron mucho más que lo habían hecho los duendes.

Escarmentado tan severamente por haber sido embustero, empezó a darse cuenta de que las falsedades y engaños dañaban incluso a quien las decía o hacía.
Memoria Imaginación se acercó a él y en un acto mágico le hizo recorrer con el pensamiento su existencia para que viera como perjudicaron sus mentiras a propios y extraños,
Con esto el Fantasma quedó sinceramente arrepentido. Entonces, ayudado por los niños de Sacramento, logro desprender de su interior, la cochambre de la mentira y los deseos de engañar, y auxiliado por la Mágica Sinceridad Alegría, logró transformarse en un ser cargado de energía limpia y nueva, con la cual curó y alivió de los maleficios que les hicieron a los gnomos. Finalmente Fantasma, duendes, niños y Mágicas enfrentaron a las hechiceras, las derrotaron y las expulsaron de la región.

Cansados pero contentos, duendes y chiquillos regresaron a sus hogares. El Fantasma se fue elevando hasta integrarse a la luz de la luna.

Memoria Imaginación y Sinceridad Alegría volvieron al espacio exterior, a dar vueltas alrededor del mundo. Frecuentemente bajan en distintas partes del planeta, donde con su magia avivan el pensamiento y la fantasía, e inspiran alegría y sinceridad.
