About the Book

WHAT DO YOU CALL A CONSPIRACY THEORY AFTER YOU KNOW THAT IT'S TRUE? The decade known as the nineties was identified by the advancement of technology in both telecommunications and the size and speed of information transfers. The internet grew from: 'what is it?' ...to... 'everyone needs it.' Along with the heightened transfer of information came the ability to control all forms of data, and eventually, the abuse created by that power. This novel was written during that time - the nineties - and in that fast-paced setting; however, it was not released because of the secretive nature of some of the subject material. Times have changed and so have classifications and the amount of knowledge regarding government's "black ops." Is it possible that an element within the U. S. Government formulated a plan to introduce biological weapons to control the world's population? Fact: In 1969, Dr. D. M. McArtor, Deputy Director of Research and Technology for the Department of Defense, appeared before the House Subcommittee on Appropriations. He requested and received funding for a 'synthetic biological agent' for which humans had not acquired a natural immunity. Fact: Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz researched and traced the supposed origin of both the AIDS and Ebola Viruses to research conducted during the late sixties by Dr. Robert Gallo, who worked on immune-system destroying viruses. The funding came from the Rockefeller Foundation through the World Health Organization and Department of Defense. Fact: In the late sixties, during the Tet Offensive at the height of the Vietnam War, a secret, covert activity was planned at Fort Hood, Texas. A small contingent of mercenary soldiers was dispatched on a mission, but where did they go and why? Someone survived the mission in 1969 and was given a reason to forget it. Whether by shock-treatments, drugs, or both, the truth became a shadow; then, from the shadows came The Facts Behind The Disappearance of B.W. Lane. { The author, LW Bryant spent the late 1960s involved in the military-industrial complex and various "special operations" which resulted in his suffering retrograde amnesia. He started a new life in the fall of 1970. In his search for details regarding his activities between the spring of 1968 and the summer of 1971, the author began compiling information which he uncovered or suspected. He then wrote a story that included both facts and suppositions, and somewhere within the pages is a decades old truth that has lain dormant...beneath a cover of time. } They said, "You can't prove anything." He said, "I don't have to prove anything, it's fiction." As an aside, Bryant met an author in the late spring of 1976 at a music festival in New Orleans. The author was very interested in Bryant's conclusion that his amnesia was not a product of his head injury, but rather a function of psychological manipulation. Since the author wrote suspense novels, he asked Bryant if he could use the unusual case of amnesia for a story, and Bryant agreed as long as the characterization did not broach the subject of viral blood abnormalities. After the release of the film The Bourne Identity in 2002, Bryant tried to contact Robert Ludlum in hopes of re-kindling the conversation and to show Ludlum his own writing regarding B.W. Lane. He found that Ludlum had passed away in 2001. Although it is inconsequential that B.W. Lane be linked to David Webb, it is interesting the New Orleans conversation may have introduced Robert Ludlum to the idea of "programmed" amnesia which identified the character... Jason Bourne.
