Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Die Diplomarbeit analysiert auf 141 Seiten die Chancen und Risiken, die für Energieversorgungsunternehmen (EVU) entstehen, wenn sie in das neue Geschäftsfeld Facility Management (FM) diversifizieren. Die Diplomarbeit wurde mit dem 3. Platz des Förderpreises 1997 des Deutschen Facility Management Verbands (GEFMA) "... herausragende wissenschaftliche Arbeit ..." ausgezeichnet. Bis heute wurden zwei Artikel in FM-Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht (Facility Management 1/98, Der Facility Manager 6/98). Die Arbeit beschreibt in einem ersten Teil die FM-Branche. Aufbauend auf diesen Überlegungen werden im zweiten Teil die Wettbewerbsfaktoren speziell für EVU abgeleitet. Ergänzt und verifiziert werden die Rückschlüsse im dritten Kapitel durch die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Erhebung der größten 25 EVU in Deutschland. Der Anhang umfaßt sehr anschaulich auf 40 Seiten die graphische Auswertung der Erhebung.
