Ziel ist die Herausarbeitung der Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen deutschen und französischen Postings und deren eventuelle Auswirkungen auf die Marktposition der Hersteller. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Unterschiede in der Werbung französischer Automobilhersteller über das soziale Netzwerk Facebook sprachlich zu analysieren. Dabei werden sowohl die Hersteller untereinander als auch deren länderspezifische Kommunikation mit dem Kunden in Deutschland und Frankreich verglichen. Die Anforderungen an das Automobil sind teilweise kulturell abhängig. Es besitzt Funktionen der soziokulturellen Art und ist nicht nur darauf ausgerichtet, das Grundbedürfnis der Streckenüberwindung zu erfüllen. In Deutschland hat das Auto teilweise immer noch die Funktion eines Statussymbols. Es wird im Genus mit Neutrum, also "das Auto", bezeichnet und mit Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit in Verbindung gebracht. In Frankreich hingegen gilt das Automobil als feminin und erfährt eine starke Personifizierung mit weiblichen Attributen. Ein kreatives Design und hohe Funktionalität sind Eigenschaften, auf die Franzosen großen Wert legen. In den letzten Jahren ist die Beliebtheit des Internets und mit ihr die der Sozialen Netzwerke als Werbeträger enorm gestiegen. Durch die Multimedialität und die Möglichkeit der Interaktion eröffnet das "World Wide Web" eine ganz neue Form der Werbung. Vor allem mit einer Nutzergeneration, die als "Digital Natives" bezeichnet wird, wird es zu einem wichtigen Werbekanal.
