Over the past few decades, health care industries and medical practitioners faced a lot
of obstacles to diagnosing medical-related problems due to inadequate technology and
availability of equipment. In the present era, computer science technologies such as IoT,
Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its allied techniques, etc. are using
rapidly for medical disease diagnosis, identifications and further treatments, especially
in Ophthalmology domain.
In Ophthalmology, visual impairment is increasing manifolds and is likely to
reach an epidemic rise globally in the next few decades. Some of the hazardous diseases
which are the main reason for visual impairment and sight loss in human beings are DR,
AMD, DME, CNV, GL, Cataract, Myopia, Astigmatism and many more to name.
Amongst them, some diseases such as CNV, DME, etc. are the severe form of AMD
and DR which are life-threatening ones. These diseases are growing exponentially and
majorly impact the elderly group and working professionals.
