About the Book

Set in Cuba, The Executive Game follows the story of Irish smuggler O'Neill in what is a bloody and violent visit to Havana. Cruel and brutal, yet also intense and powerful, The Executive Game forces the reader to question and find the morality within themselves. Likened to No Country For Old Men, The Executive Game is a compelling read that is deeply disturbing, fast-paced and gut-wrenching. This debut novel from award winning screenplay writer and playwright Pearse Elliott is a gripping read from cover to cover. "A visceral, erotic and at times terrifying journey into a world whose existence one is aware of but happy to learn about from one brave enough to have ventured into it. I've loved the book since I read it fresh on the page. The Executive Club is an adventure nobody will ever forget." Larry Lamb
About the Author: Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland with a career that spans over two decades Pearse Elliott is a recognised award-winning playwright and screenplay writer. He created and wrote the Number 1 hit TV series Pulling Moves (BBCNI 2004) and was the writer behind one of the most successful independent Irish Films to date Man About Dog (2004) which subsequently became a Number 1 Box Office hit. Pearse was also the writer and director behind the critically acclaimed film The Mighty Celt (2005) for which former X-Files star Gillian Anderson went on to win Best International Actress for her part as Kate at the IFTAs (Irish Film & TV Awards) in the same year. The commercial success of Irish horror film Shrooms in 2007 cemented Pearse's growing reputation as a much sought-after screenplay writer. His stage play Man In The Moon (2013) went on to show across the UK and Ireland as well as a four week run at the Irish Theatre Festival in New York (2014). Man In The Moon was also nominated for best play, best director and best actor at the Origin's First Irish Theatre Festival (2014). It was also a winner of the Audience Award at The Belfast Festival the year it opened and has been commissioned as a screenplay by BFI. Pearse was the winner of the prestigious BBC First Bite Young Playwrights competition in 1996, received an Aisling Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts and Culture in 2005, was nominated for a Radio Sony award (1996) and recognised as a Top 40 Under 40 Artist in 2008.
