About the Book

This story is for readers of all ages and especially the young reader. Ewgo is a 13-year-old inventor during the modern stone-age era. His inventions come not from necessity but from the love in his heart and desire to protect his younger brother. During the earliest history of modern stone-age humans, the struggle for survival was a daunting task. The endless search for food and shelter in a harsh, primitive world left little time for much else. Deadly predators of the time such as the Saber Tooth Tiger and the Dire Wolf posed a great threat to these early humans. They were feared almost as much as nature itself, which could easily decimate an entire Clan with one fateful act. With all that threatened the mere existence of these human beings, not until caves became a stable source of shelter, were they able to find the peace, security and sense of "home" needed to emerge as the most intelligent and inventive species on Earth. The reader might find it very interesting and challenging to list all the inventions Ewgo comes up with. At last count there were sixteen. Some are so simple you may miss them. Ewgo's brilliant mind comes up with different ways to solve problems or easier and more efficient ways of doing things. Some of his inventions are so important they have since become the most influential in all of human history, such as the fishing net and the bow and arrow! Have you ever wondered how the idea to invent the bow and arrow came about? If you read Ewgo The Inventor and The Angry Mountain you will discover just how Ewgo's brilliant mind comes up with the idea for the bow and arrow and the fishing net! Another interesting note about this book is that you will not find one instance of "man's inhumanity to man" in this entire story. The conflict is inherent in the struggle to survive - it is man verses nature like Hemingway's "Old Man And The Sea". There is not one negative feeling or expression by any character towards another. This story is about the love of family and Clan. But it is also a story about survival in a harsh and primitive world. If you like the first installment there are two more to come! The second installment is in the works and will be entitled, "Ewgo The Inventor and The Comet". In this installment Ewgo will face something he has never even thought of or could imagine - "man's inhumanity to man". Yes! It is something so baffling, so foreign to Ewgo it is a wonder he is able to confront this kind of conflict at all. So don't miss out on one of the first and most important inventors of the human race. His name is Ewgo and his story is called Ewgo The Inventor and The Angry Mountain.
About the Author: I have always wanted to be a writer even though it was something that didn't come natural to me. I rarely did well in English class in school, but I loved reading stories and to me it was magical how the written word could be used to transport me to other worlds I knew would never have been accessible otherwise. I came from a family steeped in the Motion Picture Industry and as a young boy I remember every Sunday the family would gather at my grandparents house near Sunset Boulevard and I'd settle-in on the carpeted floor in front of the old RCA color television and we'd watch the Walt Disney Show and the Ed Sullivan Show. My parents had an old black and white television and where we lived in the Hollywood Hills, television reception was difficult to nearly impossible, so it was on that carpet at my grandparent's house I received my most influential moments as a youngster. At the age of ten there was one of the most influential events in the history of music, which I was witness to. On the Ed Sullivan Show straight from Liverpool, England came a sensation like never before... "The Beatles!" But it was the magic of the Walt Disney Show and movies like "The Wizard of Oz", "Gone With The Wind" and "Rebel Without a Cause", which fueled my over-active imagination and later directed my life. To my astonishment I discovered these great movies all came from great novels. It was later in my teens that I dove into reading novel after novel by all the great authors. So naturally I wanted to be a writer and because of my family background the first thing I ever wrote was a screenplay. If I didn't think I could write a novel, (a monumental task as a teenager) I thought maybe I could write a screenplay. So I did. The results were mixed. So began my dream of being a screenplay writer, which I still to this day hold dear to my heart. In fact this story "Ewgo The Inventor" was first written as a feature length family animation screenplay as a tribute to those days as a youngster watching the Walt Disney Show. I believed in the story so much I sat down a year or so later and turned it into a novel with plans of writing a trilogy. This first book has not one instance of "man's inhumanity towards man". I am currently working on the next installment, entitled "Ewgo The Inventor and The Comet". In this installment Ewgo must confront "man's inhumanity to man". So there you have it and here it is... my story, "Ewgo The Inventor and The Angry Mountain".
