This debut book boldly seeks to argue competitively in the same intellectual field as famous atheists such as RICHARD DAWKINS, CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS, and BERTRAND RUSSELL, and to do so in the spirit and style of such famous Christian apologists as C.S. Lewis and RAVI ZACHARIAS, drawing heavily on basic science, history, physics, psychology, paleontology, anthropology, archeology, neurology, child development and even science fiction. It describes the evolution of the human brain in ancient hominids allowing humans to eventually conceive a non-physical realm (the spirit world), and as the mind evolved intellectually from primitive animism to Christology, God revealed himself gradually as the developing hominid brain became able to comprehend new ideas. For Believers, the author presents a new, intellectually satisfying way to understand and defend the Bible. For both Skeptics and Believers, a worldview is offered that is spiritually meaningful and scientifically sound.
About the Author: Grandma Moses began her amazing art career at age 78, producing over 400 valuable oil paintings of Americana, starting late but finishing strong. Our author is following in her path, writing his first book at age 80: late, but on time. Asked why he waited so long to write this book he simply answered "It wasn't ready." Clearly, for years he has thought long and deep about the intersection of science and religion. He is a lifelong and avid student of nearly everything, tracing his developing ideas through anthropology, archeology, paleontology, neurology, human development, psychology and philosophy, among others. He has been a commercial artist, pastor, social worker, state supervisor and nearly 20 years at the University of Kentucky as Assistant Dean in the College of Social Work. He attended seminary at Anderson College in Indiana, received the Master of Social Work degree in Kentucky, and pursued the doctorate of Education (Ed.D) at the University of Kentucky.
