About the Book

TOTALLY DISABLED FIRST TIME WRITER SHARES HIS LESSONS TO COPE WITH LIFE'S CHALLENGES THROUGH PERSONAL AND HUMOROUS EXPERIENCES

You know how you see some of the most successful and happy people are dealing with the most unbelievable challenges and adversities working against them? Then you find yourself asking, "If this guy is successful, happy and fulfilled dealing with his challenges, how does he do it?"

Craig Mattice penned a "slap-you-in-the-face and wake up" inspiring book titled, Evaluate, Adapt, And Overcome: Accept No Limits In Life, making you ask, "What is his secret of coping with so many adversities, yet he is enjoying life to the fullest?" Craig recounts his story of coming to terms with total disability and outlines specific advice that helped him along the way. He is a survivor going from highly physically fit as prior law enforcement, specialty trained military and long distance runner, to dealing with doctors for almost 11 years before receiving a definitive, yet terminal diagnosis. He is also a survivor of a near-fatal brain stem stroke, yet he has continued to design his life by dealing with adversity through learning to evaluate, adapt and overcome.

Craig has coined a personal motto of Living Life on My Terms, No Excuses No Regrets. He has Para-sailed over 1,000 feet high, bungee jumped from a 140 foot tower by his ankles and even scaled the top final two tenths of a mile of a 10,000 foot mountain volcano in Hawaii using crutches, all since becoming disabled.

Discover examples and methods to design a life instead of simply making a living, if this is your goal. This worked for Craig by dealing with the adversity of total disability, through learning to evaluate, adapt, and overcome. Why? Because he now looks at life as if there are no problems only challenges. We are all limited only by our imagination and by not allowing others permission to determine limits on our lives.

This book is actually making a difference in people's lives who read it and get the messages contain within the covers. The responses to his book have been unbelievable judging by the comments received such as, "I couldn't wait [to get the book] and then I couldn't put it down!" "I LOVE your book! Don't think I've ever read anything that quoted Yoda!" "I just about spewed my Lucky Charms all over my keyboard as I was reading your 'Sharing My Final Wishes' section of your book." "Excellent words, Craig! ...... - And by the way - I am loving your book! [I] Had a hard time putting it down!" Finally, "I was laughing so hard while reading your book on the beach, the people next to me asked me to quiet down."

He generously shares his knowledge and experiences with others through his blog, on forums, the Internet and now writing this motivating book. Craig demonstrates we have the power to control our response to adversity. His time is short, but that has not stopped Craig from Living Life on His Terms. Admittedly, this is a simple concept to discuss but not easy to accomplish.

About the Author: I'm enjoying my life like never before. I'm productive and successful in spite of my challenges; "Living Life On My Terms with No Excuses No Regrets." Well, my situation is a tad different than some people. I am home bound due to total disability from a severe progressive neurological disease. Finally diagnosed after 10 years as Cerebellar Degenerative Disease and Spinocerebellar Atrophy, both with Ataxia. It is a serious disease that has no treatment or cure and only continues to progressively degenerate. The brain's Cerebellum, which sits on top of the brain stem, controls all autonomic functions like heart, lungs, etc. We've just recently received a terminal prognosis. BUT, I've checked the bottom of my foot and there is no blue ink stamp with an expiration date. So who the hell knows, right? I've been married to my first wife for 37 years and have two very successful grown children. My daughter is a Paralegal, married with two sons, Sean and Morgan. My son is engaged and a professional Mechanical Engineer in Chicago. We have two great dogs that take care of me. Pongo is a 10 year old Jack Russell and Belle a three year old West Highland Terrier. I use my time on the computer sparingly as my disability symptoms, including severe involuntary movements and double vision, make it very difficult to move and follow the mouse icon. It's my window to the outside world and I've had the honor and privilege to have developed many online friends throughout the world. This is not the life I had planned or expected at this point. But, you deal the best you can with the cards you're dealt. I do have a pretty warped and sick sense of humor so I don't mind using my situation to make others laugh. A laugh is a priceless gift and brightens everyone's day who hears it. So, each day I have a goal to make everyone's encounter with me to be a positive experience and have them walk away thinking, "I'm sure glad I met him today!" That applies to people on the internet as well. It feels good to know I can give people a smile or a good laugh just by writing. By accomplishing all of the above I already feel like the "wealthiest man in the world and Living Life On My Terms!"
