THE ETHICAL AND MORAL CODE OF CONFUCIUS. It is common when speaking of the Chinese sage, philosopher and teacher of ancient Kung-Fu-Tsu (Confucius), to refer to him in the previous qualifying terms, with which we overlook the most important facet of this transcendental figure of Eastern culture concerning Ethics and Morals, which in the end were, or are the basic elements of his doctrine and on which Confucianism was formed as an ideological current.And it is precisely the main objective of Confucian doctrines is to develop in individuals high moral qualities that allow them to relate and live in perfect harmony, enjoying full freedom and welfare regardless of race, sex, or social or economic status.Hence the meaning of life and the efforts of the genial thinker so that these objectives could be put into practice in any of the special situations in which people found themselves; and the historical panorama that he had to live was extremely hostile in this sense.But starting from perseverance, study and constant self-improvement, basic elements of his theory, Confucius managed to gather around him a large group of disciples and followers who would ultimately spread his doctrines later, which in the end would reach every corner of the planet, but always starting from the ethical nucleus necessary in the formation of values, which it was necessary for individuals to possess.For there to be honest subjects and for them to enjoy all rights, including that of education, it was necessary that in correspondence there should be honest, human and honest governors and governments who would set an example and guide the former in progress and well-being, which was ultimately what Confucius aspired to: the well-being and freedom of all men regardless of their social status or caste origin.Undoubtedly, to achieve that in the conditions of the nascent Asian culture was impossible and of course a utopian task, which earned the illustrious thinker to consider in some moment of vacillation, like the one common in men, that the effort of all his life had been in vain and that he had not been able to carry out his work. Nothing could be further from reality, for he laid the foundations and the path to follow so that one day this would become possible. Incidentally, this has not yet been achieved in any country in the world, although in some nations citizens enjoy greater freedom, rights and welfare than in others, but still far from Confucianist objectives and examples need not be mentioned, because anywhere in the world there are inequalities, injustices and helplessness of the most humble, although there are some in which this constitutes the bread of every day and reach chilling levels material miseries, human and all kinds.But in relation to the above, Kung-Fu-Tsu or Confucius, as it was renamed in the West, pointed out the objective, the direction and the sense to follow so that one day the inequalities between human beings will disappear, which in the end, as Mencius added, one of the most eminent followers of Confucius in the fourth classic book: are good by nature and have the possibility of overcoming their deficiencies, errors and defects, to develop high moral and human feelings such as those of kindness, decorum, honesty, honesty and above all those of solidarity and social coexistence, which are those that have enabled the development and progress of man over the other species of the animal kingdom.
