As medidas de maior massa estão a influenciarpoderosamente o comportamento da energia de simetria nuclear perto da densidade de saturação nuclear e a equação de estado de alta densidade (EoS) devido à existência da massa máxima. Discutem-se aqui as propriedades de estrelas compactas hadrónicas puras e híbridas utilizando uma equação de estado nuclear realista adequada para matéria de estrelas de neutrões β-equilibradas . Utilizámos a EoS hadrónica pura e a EoS combinada com quark para o núcleo interno ultra denso para determinar a massa da NS. Areduçãosignificativa da massa máxima foi encontrada com a inclusão do núcleo de quarks.
