About the Book

Miguel Salas Díaz vivió en Taiwán entre 2008 y 2012. Esta Isla Hermosa le regaló mucha felicidad, un buen puñado de amigos y un sinfín de anécdotas e impresiones causadas por el estimulante choque cultural con las costumbres locales. A lo largo de aquellos años recogió sus experiencias en una columna semanal para La Voz de Galicia, en forma de cartas dirigidas a su abuela Tilde. Escribirlas le ayudó, según sus propias palabras, a darle cierto sentido, en la medida de lo posible, al constante desafío que supone vivir en una cultura tan diferente a la propia.

Miguel Salas Díaz, nació en Madrid en 1977 y es Doctor en Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada. Ha sido profesor de lengua y literatura españolas en universidades de Italia, China y Taiwán, y hoy continúa su labor docente en un centro de enseñanza secundaria de Madrid.

Ha publicado los libros de poemas La luz (Hiperión, 2007; X Premio de Arte Joven de la Comunidad de Madrid) y Las almas nómadas (Hiperión, 2011; XXVI Premio de Poesía Hiperión), el álbum infantil Tonino (OQO, 2013) y la novela Ni temeré las fieras (Salto de página, 2017). También ha traducido la poesía de G. K. Chesterton (El gran mínimo, Salto de Página, 2014) y de Li Qing Zhao (Jade puro, Hiperión, 2014). Actualmente colabora con el legendario espacio radiofónico La escóbula de la brújula.
